All Teeth #3 – Summer 2012

So it’s been a long time coming on this one. Finally we are releasing the third issue of All Teeth. This issue is our biggest and best yet. It’s got tour stories from Skies Bleed Black, Starcrossed, Run Devil Run and more. It also has a comic, some chicago graffiti, fiction, poetry and plenty of awesome illustrations and beautiful photography. I’ll keep you all posted when it’s up for sale and where you can get it.

All Teeth 'Zine - Issue #3

The Robinhood

So today I heard news that they are going to demolish The Robinhood, a Kent staple to me. Now some of you may be too young or have no idea what I’m talking about in this post but bear with me. The Robinhood is a bar in Kent. It wasn’t just any bar though. Almost every single person I am friends with or grew up with has had the Robinhood shape their life in some way. For real. One of my favorite bands growing up happened to be a band that I got to grow up with, tour with, and make music with. The Starcrossed. I met Zach when I worked at the Kent Plaza Theater in high school. I was in Skies Bleed Black and he was in Starcrossed. Two totally different worlds of music at the time. We had mutual friends and we got them on a show in Brimfield (at some Field High School Festival). I can remember never hearing their music before that night. I watched a bunch of dudes get on stage, dance, and smash their guitar. I was sold. We ended up playing countless shows together at the Robinhood, etc. They were strange shows. Great, starnge, shows. A very strange mix of people. I can remember one show the bill was us, Starcrossed and Goatwhore… GOATWHORE WITH STARCROSSED!? Really? Turned out to be one of the greatest shows we ever played. We also went on tour with them, played for no one in different cities and fit all of us in to a hotel room. Zach also appeared on one of our songs “Bleed It In June”. Anyway, what it boils down to is that they changed my life. I found a video I recorded of them back in 2003 at the Robinhood playing “Barbarella”. I watched it and am still in amazement on how much I really enjoyed them. Check it out.

From The Road

So it’s been a long time since I’ve taken a look at this thing. In 2006 I started putting together a collection of stories/journals from bands about the tours and concerts they had played. I never got very far due to other obligations like school, work, etc. This book definitely did not turn out how I wanted but instead of letting it sit on my hard drive I thought some other people might enjoy reading about tours from bands like Skies Bleed Black, Starcrossed, Sweetheart, Run Devil Run and Dissolute. So the other night I added the last story I had, threw some pictures I could come up with in and made it a PDF file available to download here. I hope you enjoy.
